Gerardo Magela Vieira Jr holds a B.S. and master’s degree in Chemistry (Federal University of Piauí), Ph.D. and has postdoctoral experience in Chemistry (São Paulo State University). Currently, Dr. Gerardo holds the position of Associate Professor IV at UFPI and CNPq Research Productivity Scholarship. His research experience are: Phytochemistry: extraction and isolation of secondary metabolites from plants and toad poison using hyphenated techniques; compound identification by spectroscopic methods; dereplication/annotation and plant/toad metabolomics; and Structural modification: structural modifications aimed at increasing biological potential of secondary metabolites.
