Daiane Szczerbowski is PhD in Organic Chemistry (2016) from the Federal University of Paraná. She completed part of her studies at the Technische Universität Braunschweig (Germany). Daiane has experience in organic chemistry, with an emphasis on organic synthesis and chemical ecology, working mainly in the isolation, identification, and synthesis of natural products, as well as the synthesis of compounds for pharmaceutical purposes. In March 2021, she completed a two-year postdoc at the Technische Universität Braunschweig (Germany). Daiane volunteered for four years as a professional advisor at the ACS Student Chapter UFMG, an extension project that develops workshops and lectures focused on scientific outreach and career development. She worked as a senior scientist at Selvita in Krakow (Poland), developing synthesis of molecules with pharmaceutical interest, including a 100 g-scale up synthesis of a drug candidate for preclinical trials. Currently, Daiane works as a project manager and new business prospector at EMBRAPII Unit FarmaVax – UFMG. The units aim to develop innovation projects in collaboration with the industry, assisting the companies to enhance the Technological readiness level (TRL) until the launching of new products.
