She holds a Bachelor’s degree in Chemistry – Teaching (1992) and a Bachelor’s degree in Chemistry – Science (1991) from the Federal University of Minas Gerais (UFMG). She also holds a Master’s degree (1995) and a Ph.D. (2000) in Organic Chemistry – Natural Products, from the Federal University of Minas Gerais. She is currently a Full Professor at the Federal University of Minas Gerais. She has experience in the field of Chemistry, with an emphasis on Natural Products Chemistry, mainly working on the following topics: chemical study of the Celastraceae family, structural determination of secondary metabolites with a focus on pentacyclic triterpenes.
