Raquel Cardoso de Melo Minardi

Raquel Cardoso de Melo Minardi

Raquel Minardi holds a Ph.D. in Bioinformatics (2008) and a B.Sc. in Computer Science (2004), both from the Federal University of Minas Gerais (UFMG), Brazil. She completed her postdoctoral training at the Commissariat à l’Énergie Atomique et aux Énergies Alternatives (CEA), France (2008–2009).
Currently, she is an Associate Professor in the Department of Computer Science at UFMG and a permanent faculty member of both the Graduate Program in Computer Science and the Graduate Program in Bioinformatics (both rated 7 by CAPES). She is the coordinator of the Bioinformatics Graduate Program at UFMG (2024–2026).
She was an Affiliated Member of the Brazilian Academy of Sciences (2019–2023), Deputy Coordinator of the Graduate Program in Bioinformatics (2020–2021, 2022–2024), Secretary of the Central-Southeast Regional Office of the Brazilian Association for Computational Biology and Bioinformatics (AB3C), Coordinator (2023) and Vice-Coordinator (2022) of the Special Committee on Computational Biology (CE-BioComp) of the Brazilian Computer Society (SBC). Her main research interests include Bioinformatics and Computational Biology, Artificial Intelligence, and Data Visualization.
