The global diversity of extremophilic fungi remains poorly understood and is critical in various regions of the planet. This lecture will present research on the biodiversity of extremophilic fungi found in different ecosystems of Antarctica, the Arctic, and along Brazil’s Blue Amazon, as well as their potential to produce metabolites with diverse biological activities.
